It's been a good couple of weeks for the softball programs at American Heritage-Delray, Cooper City and Pembroke Pines Charter.
Earlier this month, all three teams earned state tournament berths and both Heritage-Delray and Pines Charter brought home championships.
This week, four former players from those schools will be taking the field in Oklahoma City for the Women's College World Series.
Two of those players--former Pines Charter pitcher Lauren Sewell and former Heritage-Delray standout Keima Davis--play for Alabama, which will take on Tennessee on Thrusday when the tournament begins.
Two former Cooper City standouts--Laura Fountain and Stormi Grzybek--will also be in the Women's College World Series. They play for South Florida, which opens tournament play against Oklahoma on Thursday.
